What Is Fluoride?
Fluoride comes from fluorine, the most electronegative element on the periodic table, making it very reactive. The process of water fluoridation is possible by adding one of three compounds to water; fluorosilicic acid, sodium fluoride or sodium fluorosilicate.
Doing this turns fluorine into fluoride and we can no longer say that it is naturally occurring. It’s actually quite the opposite.
Fluoride is then added to our drinking water and toothpaste as a public health measure.
Just because Fluorine (its original form) is a “naturally occurring” element, it doesn’t mean it’s good for humans to consume. In fact, not everything that comes from the earth is made to be put into our bodies. Imagine if we consumed other “naturally occurring” elements like lead, aluminium, arsenic, mercury, lithium and radium?
These are all naturally occurring elements found on the Earth but we can all agree on how toxic they are for the body.
In addition, the fluoride added to drinking water is not pharmaceutically graded.
Does Fluoride Reduce Dental Cavities?
Most people understand that fluoride is added to our water to strengthen teeth and prevent cavities.
A new and improved understanding of fluoride suggests that if there is any benefit to be gained from fluoride, it is from topical application only, which means absolutely no benefit to drinking it.
Studies prove there is no difference in dental cavities between children who drink fluoridated water compared to non fluoridated water drinkers.
Health Risks
Because fluoride is invisible, tasteless and odourless - it’s hard to prove the damage or correlate any adverse health effects to its consumption during childhood. Because fluoride also bypasses some crucial detox pathways in the liver, only 50% of fluoride is excreted in adults and only 30% in children. Fluoride then stays in the body as a cumulative toxin.
Fluoride uses up calcium and other minerals in the body in an attempt to maintain the body’s optimum level of health (homeostasis). One review described fluoride as having an “insatiable appetite for calcium.”
On top of this, many people inadvertently expose themselves to more fluoride via toothpaste, mouthwash and other sources.
Many further health challenges often ensue, including dental fluorosis, skeletal fluorosis, harmful effects on the brain, reproductive systems, and endocrine systems.
The biggest challenge with fluoride is that it is a CUMULATIVE toxin. This means it builds up over time.
The effects of fluoride consumption are hard to diagnose in infancy and childhood and become more harmful (and less linked to fluoride) as we get older and older.
Over time, the body struggles to handle the load of the fluoride build up in the body’s tissues, organs and brain.

The Dosage of Fluoride Isn’t Controlled.
