The filters are created in 4 separate parts, so they are very easy to assemble and operate. Each part sits neatly into the other to create a strong sturdy filtration system. The base, the bottom tank, the top tank & the lid.

It is comforting to know that the Filteroo® Joey 12L will never leak as the top and bottom tank configurations have been uniquely purposely designed, so the top tank installs inside the bottom tank, which means this system can never, ever leak.

Our Journey To Create The Best Stoneware Gravity Water Filter We Could!

A difficult journey that has taken us over a decade to achieve. We started selling gravity water filters way back, well over 10 years ago. Our first range was the cheap plastic systems with the top tank on top of the bottom tank but they leaked when over filled. Originally we were told these plastic systems were BPA free, but as we pressed for more information & then test results we soon became aware there was no testing and no one new what these filters were created from.

We then started to look further a field and found the ceramic gravity water filters. These were very nice indeed, the issue here was we could not get supplied enough for the demand of our customers. As these gravity water filters became more popular the supply slowed and we had to wait up to 4 months for our orders, then the owners retired, and the company closed down and we had no supply at all. So we kept trying and eventually we found a new supplier for ceramic gravity water filters but no matter how hard we tried we were only able to average 9 ceramic gravity water filters from this supplier each week. So still no real supply. We searched around Australia for any potters who could create these amazing water filters but unfortunately we just had no luck. What we did find was 4 gentlemen who were all at retiring age that had been creating these magnificent filters for many years but they had done their time and it was their time to take a rest so they slowed down or retired. Unfortunately that left us with no ceramic gravity water filter supplier here in Australia and it was at that point we had to move offshore to find the best quality supplier we could.

And as they say - You never know what you will find unless you take a look, and look we did and look what we were able to achieve. The new Filteroo® Joey ceramic gravity water filters. We know all about this, as thats how we started, by having quality potters here in Australia create ceramic water filters for us & deliver them direct to our customers. The biggest issues were with the hand made products on the potters wheel, as every pot is a little different because they are made by hand on a spinning wheel. World-Class Filtration With The Minerals Retained

The slow gravity filtration process is just a beautiful method to remove those unwanted contaminants found in our water supplies nowadays. The slow flow rate through the gravity cartridge allows the water to have the required contact time with the cartridge media for the water to escape from any contaminants in the water, by leaving the contamination inside the cartridge as the water droplets slowly drip down and escape  into the bottom holding tank. Whilst at the same time the water retains the healthy minerals in the water for us to consume.

Cartridge Is First Class

They are the perfect solution for filtering both untreated rainwater from a water storage tank, or for town & city water from the tap that has been treated with chlorine & chemicals.

It is highly recommended for rainwater & city water supplies treated with chlorine or chloramine. The Ultraceram cartridge will greatly reduce herbicides, pesticides, lead, heavy metals, chlorine, taste & odour from the water. So you get nice tasty drinking water for your home.

Ultraceram Fluoride Removal Water Filter Cartridge With Minerals Retained

This is a cartridge which is sometimes called a candle, an ideal choice of gravity cartridge for both water tanks or treated city water, it has the best test results we can find for a gravity water filtration cartridge. If you are filtering rain water it is great as it will stop all the bugs & bacteria in the water, whilst at the same time it protects you from any herbicides, pesticides or lead that may wash in from your roof.

Then for treated city water it has super high removal rates for the common contaminants like fluoride, chlorine & chloramine, plus protects from all those other contaminants in the test results below.

This ULTRACERAM cartridge is made from the highest quality ceramic with coconut shell based granular activated carbon and other proprietary adsorbent medias on the inside. It combines mechanical filtration and physical adsorption processes to reduce a wide variety of drinking water contaminants of both aesthetic and health concerns.

This cartridge has a Ceramic outer shell made from Diatomaceous Earth formed from millions of microscopic silicone shells - compressed to give a 0.5 micron rating to repel any sediments, bugs or bacteria.

The pore structure of the ceramic enables sufficient contact time for the ULTRACERAM to be ideally suited to improving taste and odour as well as reducing Chlorine, Chloramines, Pathogenic Organisms, Volatile Organic Contaminants, Herbicides & Pesticides, Heavy Metals, Semi-Volatile Contaminants and most importantly fluoride.

This unique high-performance ceramic shell cartridge is perfect for treated tap water or untreated water like rainwater from a tank.

It can be scrubbed clean as required if sediments build up on the outside of the cartridge. A good scrub with some 100 grit sandpaper will bring the cartridge back to life and get that water flowing if ever required.

When Not Used

If the filter is left to stand for more than 3 - 4 days without use, it is recommended that one litre of water be allowed to flow through the cartridge to waste before using.

Highly recommended for rainwater & city water supplies treated with chlorine or chloramine. If your water is treated with or contains fluoride, you might want to check out the option which will remove the fluoride, and utilise the Ultraceram fluoride removal cartridge which can be installed instead of the carbon cartridge.
